The exhibition From Texas To Bastogne, "Texas Aggies Go To War" recounts the journey of five Texans.
James Earl, Joe, James, Turney and William. Five young students from Texas A&M University are thrown into the European inferno to become unwitting heroes.
The exhibition From Texas To Bastogne, Texas Aggies Go To War recounts the journey of these five Texans. Through them, visitors will discover life on an American campus in the interwar years, with its distinct student traditions; the shock of Pearl Harbor; their recruitment and training; the Normandy landings followed by the slow recapture of a Europe in ruins, as far as the Ardennes forest, where the American liberators’ bloodiest battle took place.
Their journeys are brought to life before our eyes thanks to objects from the university’s collection, testimonials, film extracts and archive documents reverently preserved by the families. The war left deep, often painful, memories, which are conveyed through evocative arrangements.
This exhibition is not to be missed by any visitor to the Bastogne War Museum!
